UPT Campus Explorer is a project developed and organized by the Polytechnic University
Timișoara, in collaboration with representatives of the 10 faculties and student organizations recognized at the university level.
UPT Campus Explorer is intended for students entering their final year of high school studies and who
aim to continue their studies in higher education.
The main goal is to encourage students to continue their education, after
completion of high school studies, following university studies.
The proposed objectives aim
(1) Reducing the dropout rate among first-year college students.
(2) Informing students about the study offer made available by the University
Timisoara Polytechnic.
(3) Accommodating students to student life.
In this context, at the Faculty of Engineering in Hunedoara with the support of the Hunedoara County School Inspectorate, this event was organized between June 26-29, 2024. During the three days of the camp, the 15 graduating students of class XI carried out activities of knowledge of the University Campus, workshops for self-knowledge and inclusion, social-cultural activities and recreational sports.
The high schools from which the students came were: Energetic Technological High School ,,Dragomir Hurmuzescu”, Deva, Technological High School ,,Grigore Moisil”, Deva, Technical College ,,Transilvania”, Deva, Technological High School ,,Nicolaus Olahus”, Orăștie and High School Agricultural technologist, ,,Alexandru Borza”, Geoagiu.

The program of the event facilitated student’s access to the company of teaching staff: Prodean, Associate professor. Dr. Eng. Sorin Aurel RAȚIU presentation in the car mechanics laboratory, assistant dr. Oana GĂIANU, presentation of the workshop in English, representatives of the Student’s League: Raluca RIF, Corina ALBESCU, Ariana SÎRBU and Natanael POP, who were with the students during the recreational activities, Eng.drd. Miruna ARMIONI, representative of the image department and coordinator of the event, lect.dr. Mihaela POPA with presentation of two workshops for self-knowledge and inclusion.
The graphic interpretation of the ,,love” symbol revealed that in any newly formed group, some representations of this symbol are similar, others are different. Interpretation depends on the lenses through which we each see love, manifest it around and feel it within. This proves that even though we are different, we can connect, communicate, collaborate or integrate in various activities, projects.
At the end of the UPT-FIH Campus Explorer event, students were congratulated and asked to express their views on the experience.
