,,Failure will never overtake me if my determination to succeed is strong enough.”– Og Mandino
How you define your success has to do with your expectations and those of those around you.
To define your own idea of success, you need to know what brings you joy. One of the best things you can do is use all the experiences you’ve been through to reach your goals in your own personal way.
What makes some people where they are? We learn another story full of essence given by Matei….
,,Volleyball, from a simple game to something as important as eating
Volleyball has become more than just a sport for me – it is a constant source of joy, discipline and motivation. It all started in the 10th grade when I was inspired by an anime. The only time I could play was during gym class, I asked my gym teacher to play volleyball, my classmates were not very enthusiastic at first but as they played they started to like it and by the end of the 12th grade I was playing volleyball every gym class. At the moment it has become an important part of my weekly routine, a moment that I look forward to every week.
Volleyball is not just about strength or speed, but especially about coordination, strategy and collaboration. Every match gives me the opportunity to learn something new, whether it is a blocking technique, a more precise shot or a more efficient positioning on the field. Every step forward gives me a deep sense of satisfaction.
In addition to the physical aspects, volleyball also has a very important social side. Training and matches have helped me build strong friendships, based on trust and mutual respect. Every point won is a shared victory, and every mistake becomes a lesson from which the entire team learns. The atmosphere on the field is always full of energy and support, which turns every session into a positive experience.
Physically, volleyball has helped me improve my endurance, agility and coordination. Regular training has made me more disciplined and pay more attention to my overall health. The sport has also taught me to be more patient with myself and to accept that progress comes gradually, through constant work and dedication.
Currently I am part of a volleyball club called BlueRavens, where we are coached by Mr. D.O., who gets involved and helps us become better players and at the same time improve our communication between players on the field. In parallel, I have the opportunity to play alongside the seniors of Hunedoara, where I can observe their experience in matches and be taught new things by them that I can implement in my game.
Today, volleyball for me is more than just a hobby – it is a way of life. It is that activity that gives me moments of authentic joy and motivates me to become a better version of myself. Every training reminds me how important it is to follow my passions and invest time in what makes me happy.”
